Certified Acupuncture

Acupuncture is one of the modalities of Oriental medicine. Although what is called Acupuncture in the West comprises of several different therapies (such as moxibustion and cupping), it mostly consists of the insertion of fine needles into the body at specific points, shown to be effective in the treatment of specific health problems, including respiratory, circulatory, neurological, and musculoskeletal disorders to name a few. Acupuncture has been used for centuries in Asia to treat hundreds of health problems. We use only pre-packaged sterile single-use needles.

Tui Na

Tui Na is a form of Chinese medical massage translated as “press and grasp” used to treat a range of disorders from physical to internal. At Qi Healing, we apply the Tom Tam healing system which focuses on the spinal column as the central hub for blockages. If there is pain there is a blockage and the Chinese proverb states “when there is free flow of Qi there is no pain, and when there is pain there is no free flow of Qi.” In other words Ohm’s Law says “the least amount of resistance is the best conductor of electricity”. Applying this theory to the body, blockages reveal itself as muscular tension interrupting the free flow of bio-electricity from the nervous system to the muscles, glands and organs. When the tension is released healing takes place and health is restored.

Cupping therapy is a form of alternative medicine in which a local suction is created on the skin with the application of heated cups. Its practice mainly occurs in Asia but also in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America.

Cupping practitioners attempt to use cupping therapy for a wide array of medical conditions including fevers, chronic low back pain, poor appetite, indigestion, high blood pressure, acne, atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, anemia, stroke rehabilitation, nasal congestion, infertility, and menstrual period cramping. Tong Ren

Developed by Tom Tam, and an integral part of the Tom Tam Healing System, Tong Ren is a form of energy therapy for restoring health and vitality. Tong Ren is based on a belief that disease is related to interruptions, or blockages, in the body's natural flow of Qi, neural bioelectricity, blood, or hormones. Tong Ren seeks to remove these blockages, restoring the body's natural ability to heal itself, even when illnesses are chronic, debilitating, or otherwise untreatable.

Tong Ren combines western knowledge of anatomy and physiology with the ancient principle of "Qi," or life force energy, to create what many consider to be a powerful new healing modality. Drawing on the Jungian theory of the "collective unconscious," Tong Ren is believed to access energy from this universal source and direct it to the patient. Because no physical contact is involved or necessary, Tong Ren is often practiced as distance healing.

In a typical therapy session, the Tong Ren practitioner uses a small human anatomical model as an energetic representation of the patient, tapping on targeted points on the model with a lightweight magnetic hammer. The practitioner directs Qi to blockage points corresponding to the patient's condition, breaking down resistance at these points. As blood flow, neural transmission, and hormone reception are restored, the body is then able to heal.

“Nick is fantastic. He is very knowledgeable, great with his craft and this is the only acupuncture clinic I have ever gone to where I actually feel the results immediately.
My greatest compliment I can offer this place is the fact that I go back weekly just for 'maintenance' even when nothing is 'wrong'.

Anyone considering acupuncture and TCM should definitely give this place a go.”
